Hike on the Edge of Europe

Join a 3-hour hike plus transportation at Cabo da Roca and explore some of the most impressive and secluded coastal landscapes near Lisbon, far from the usual crowds.

We’ll start on a lesser-used trail, where nature truly leads the way, with rich vegetation sometimes framing the path. As we walk, we’ll explore the native plants of this unique area. Soon, we’ll reach my favorite part of the journey, a ridge trail offering green surroundings and uninterrupted views of the vast sea. The cliffs descend impressively into the ocean, creating a feeling of wonder and exclusivity on this special, hidden path.

Following the captivating coastline, we’ll arrive at the iconic Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Here, we’ll share the legend of Cabo da Roca and take in the remarkable, panoramic views. Passing by its historic lighthouse, we’ll continue along a coastal trail that leads to Praia da Ursa, widely known as one of Portugal ’s most striking and unspoiled beaches.

At Praia da Ursa, you’ll have the chance to go for a swim if conditions are favorable, allowing you to connect with this enchanting place. We’ll also share the story of this unique beach. We’ll then begin our climb back to our starting point, surrounded by the beautiful colors of the sky reflecting on the cliffs and ocean, concluding the adventure with lasting memories.

Difficulty: This is not an easy hike, but it’s manageable for most with reasonable fitness and determination, and the right pace. We’ll traverse exposed cliffside trails with elevated viewpoints and steep paths. Whether you prefer a faster or slower pace, everyone can enjoy this adventure with some guidance and support.

This hike is perfect for those seeking dramatic coastal scenery, hidden trails, and a deeper connection with nature and history at the very edge of Europe.
